Edwin Bryant letter and writ : ALS and DS, 1846-1847.

Letter (1 p.) from Bryant, dated Apr. 11, 1846, written from Louisville, [Kentucky], discussing his Calif. stock investments; and a writ (Mar. 8, 1847) issued by him as Chief Magistrate of San Francisco District, ordering the sheriff of San Francisco to levy a sum of money due Thomas Smith from Charles Heath. On the reverse of the letter are biographical notes on Bryant, written in an unidentified hand.
